EA is going to open up the original SimCity game for potential inclusion on the OLPC project. SimCity may have been the first "educational" game that I actually enjoyed, and would be a good inclusion for this project. Many people who are targets for these laptops live in urban slums (or will soon) - of course, nothing in these environments is as clean, neat, and planned as SimCity, but it's a good start. Right, slashdot?
Hey, you know those "old" gadgets that break sometimes, giving you an excuse to drop a few hundred more bucks on an upgraded model? You know they can be fixed, right? And, it's purely coincidental that people are fixing them instead of replacing, given the state of our economy. /.
