It's on like Donkey Kong

The Boston-Cleveland ALCS has really inspired me. Not, not really. Actually, I said to myself, "I want to watch the game, but don't want the feeling of having wasted hours of my life watching baseball". (it's a great game so far, into the 4th) I had a moderately stressful day at work, and I just want to chill. So how does Anton chill, you might ask? INSTALL UBUNTU!!!

That's right, for fun, I have created another partition on my hard drive and have installed the freshest release of Ubuntu Linux. Love it. The only thing I miss? iTunes. I'm obsessed with iTunes U, but the rest of their podcasts that I listen to (This American Life, Marketplace) are easy enough to find online.

And yes, I will be documenting the reasons to switch, and very soon. Sorry, I know that crap bores you to death. Main reason? Your computer is running slower than it used to...doesn't have that sparkle it once did. Yeah, you've got spyware. Most spyware removers are pretty good, but they can't always get rid of stuff like Storm. Honestly, Storm scares me in a way no other viruses, worms, or spyware scares me. Even from a global security standpoint...but that's a rant for another day.

So I'll be posting all the reasons to switch soon. But yes, the main reasons are stability (I've never had to restart a Ubuntu computer because of "freezing" or anything like that) and there is ZERO spyware, viruses, etc. It's the next best option to buying a Mac (and actually better, if you consider the cost of software - linux software is FREE, you don't even have to pirate it!)

Also, I will never get over the fact that baseball has two of the best names in sports - Coco Crisp (CF for the Red Sox) and Milton Bradley (OF for the A's).
