First avenue - R.I.P

I just got word from my dogg Natronix out in NYC that First Avenue has closed. Damn. That's all I can say...I'll report more after I mix, and then rapidly drink, a stiff drink.

Also, if you want to stay up-to-date on which channels are calling one candidate or the other check this out...

Also, at the moment, things are looking good, according to the most recent exit polls (which you really shouldn't trust anyway).

First Ave. I found out today as well. That blows.
Election day. Just wow. As of now, no concession. I would love for the provisional ballots to tell the tale but I don't see that happening. sigh...

Yeah, First Avenue, then the election...just an overall shitty november 2. At least it means Jon Stewart will definitely be funny for the next 4 years. As he pointed out last night, it's interesting that the red states vote for Bush based on the issues of "terrorism" and "moral issues" while the blue states that voted for Kerry have most of the major terrorist targets...

As for First Ave, word on the street is that a similar club could open at the same spot, though it wouldn't be called first avenue anymore. I hadn't really been there in awhile, since most of the good shows nowadays are at the Triple Rock. But I could REALLY go for a couple of them big-azz coronas about now.
