Howard Zinn on Kerry's Iraq position

I agree with Howard Zinn on a great many things, and one of the interesting things about this little op-ed piece is that Kerry needs to stress not only that he served his country ('defended' has different connotations), but also that he had the moral courage to speak out against the war when he came back. Since the Republicans are trying to win this election based on the persona of their candidate (dubya 'values XYZ more, dubya is 'stronger on XYZ'), this could actually be important. Democrats, please stop trying to win the election on issues. The American people are behind you on the issues, as they always have been. Issues do not win elections. Stoop to their level, and talk about your own 'moral clarity'; tell the press that you're 'tough on terrorism'...
