15-minute debate impression

So far, it looks like Cheney is calm, composed, and straight-up with what he (falsely) believes...Edwards looks like he just copied off of Kerry's notes...

Reiterating Kerry's points IS important, but Edwards needs to take Cheney head-on...the two candidates aren't seeing eye-to-eye at all at the moment...it seems like they're talking about different issues...Edwards dodged the "democracy in Afghanistan" issue, and tried to counter with the "opium-growing thugs run the country" argument...the American people are a bit more able to connect with the abstract of 'democracy' than with the actual reality of living in a warlord-run country.

Also, Cheney has already mentioned the "WRONG STANCE ON DEFENSE", "FLAWED JUDGMENT" and other such subjective B.S. several times already, with nothing to back it up...he keeps mentioning Kerry's "record" but only refers to that body-armor "issue"...will he sound like a broken record by the end of this?

Daily Kos has more on Cheney's contradictions regarding the link between 9/11 and Iraq.

Edit: there's more! Apparently, dubya has a 'major speech planned' for tomorrow...like he's not on CNN enough? I swear, the teevees at work are tuned to cnn, and it's all-bush, all-the-time...

Ahem...actually, while I do realize that dubya could not possibly come up with the things he says by himself, I do not equate Karl Rove with your God. If you want to worship Rove, fine.

As to your second point, you clearly do not realize that these men are politicians because they are able to turn whatever question they are asked into whatever question they WANT to be asked. It's what separates average joes like us from the bigwigs.

As to how I'm doing? Awful. I haven't been able to go online ALL day because some lawyerly guys want me to sit here and put together binders for them, and I've had about 7 days of work dumped on me and it's expected to be completed by the week.

Hopefully I'll have time for a debate recap after I get home. On a brighter note, I just cashed in my change jar for 40 bucks! That's a lot of ramen!

*I'm not even supposed to BE here today!* (not really, but I'm sure you'll get it, j) cheers,

anton

Funny quote. Couple of years ago the 'Rents and I went to Red Bank, NJ to Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash. My dad bought a Tee that says that line and then says "Dante (Hicks)". I've contemplated stealing it many a time and in fact tell him that I plan on owning that shirt.

I also want no chance of a thought that I support The Repubs. I do not.

Hoping your day is sunshine and flowers, or coochie, whichever you prefer.
